This article is a part of a series that explains the use of each tab in the participant profile. These profiles will be your primary method for monitoring the individual progress of each participant. When you go into the console, you may or may not be able to see all of the sections/tabs that we discuss in this series. That's okay! It is just the way your program has been designed.
In this article, we will go over the function and content of the Messages tab in a participant's profile.
Messages
In this section of the Participant's profile, you will be able to review the notifications they've received while using the Pattern Health app.
Reviewing Messages
In the messages tab, you will see all of the notifications a participant has received listed in chronological order of delivery. You will see the notification's delivery channel (Patient-Provider Chat, SMS Message, Push Notification, or In-App), title, and the message content.
On the right side of the list, you will also see the status and delivery date of the message. If the message was not successfully sent, you will see an Error status and a blank delivery date.
When you see an Error delivery status, check to see if the channel for delivery was Text Message. If so, it might mean that the participant's phone number is incorrect.
Sending Messages
You cannot send messages from the Messages Tab. You can only send an ad-hoc message to the participant in the Chat tab of their profile. And this is only possible if Patient-Provider Chat has been enabled for this group.
System v.s. Custom Notifications
This tab only displays custom notifications, or notifications that were written/designed specifically for your study/clinic in the Messages section of the Pattern Health Console.
Today, we do not have a way to review the system notifications that a participant has received.
System Notifications are the automatic reminders that are sent to participants about incomplete tasks in their app. System notifications include Daily Summaries, Reminders, Warnings, and Failure Messages.
